Each break will be
2 Boxes Topps Unique
2 Boxes 2009 Topps Heritage High Number
There is no Football break in February but there will be in March.
I have been going back and forth on how to make the breaks fairer to our less fortunate teams. Obviously any of the newer teams are light on hits with a few exceptions.
It is resolved that from hereon forward the teams will be split into tiers.
(6)Any team newer than 1980 including the Nationals are in Tier 3 $10
(8)Any team newer than 1961 shall be in Tier 2 $13.50 168
(16) Any team older than 1961 shall be in Tier 1 $16.50

I think this scheme is a little more fair but it doesn't account for the real problem, number of cards per team on a checklist.
Here is my example: The Yankees have a million cards on every product's checklist. The Orioles have very few cards. Both are in the same tier. In addition the best possible hits (both vintage and current) on each team are way better for the Yankees (Ruth, Mantle, Geherig, Dimaggio, Jeter, ARod vs Ripkin, Palmer, B Robinson).
Assuming a random distribution of cards, the person who buys the Yankees will get a better return in terms of number of cards than the person who buys the orioles.
Unfortunately, there is no solution to this problem that isn't tedious.
I'll take the Rangers slot in the second break (Exquisite and T206).
Hamiltonian.
Sorry I didn't get a chance to update the list, Rangers are taken
Alex,
Interestingly enough I think the big hits are a just as common for the Orioles than they are for the Yanks. Here is what I mean. There are just as many Cal Ripken patches, autos as there are Jeter and Arod. Whereas the Marlins and rockies are short on big hits period.
Your point is well taken, but I would have to come up with a matrix and calculate it for each product. As you said, tedious. Funny that the big hits we have gotten have been the Cardinals, Detroit and the White Sox. We did get the one Yankees Prime Cuts Maris, but I don't think we have gotten anything else major. The Dodgers cleaned up in Sweet Spot.
Frankly I couldn't come up with a better solution.
AARGH! I keep watching for them!
I think Alex makes a good point, and the Orioles are a good example to use.
Unless you're going to be counting the St. Louis Browns as Orioles, you may want to change that date to 1954.
Hey would I be able to get the Nationals/Expos/Senators in one of the breaks. I came in a little late on this so I'm not sure what the difference between the two breaks is.
I see in one of the comments that someone said the second break is T206 and Exquisite. Assuming that is correct can I get the Nats/Expos/Senators for that set of breaks? can you email me at nrmtblog@gmail.com about how to get the payment to you
Straight up---in these economic times I'll take it! Should we go ahead and send in for next month?
Mr. Collector, which tier do the Rangers fall into...top or middle? Since they were listed as 1961 I wasn't sure.
Hey, In an email a couple days ago, you said I could claim the Nats/Expos/Senators for these breaks but I see that they are still marked as open. My payment is coming by snailmail so I don't want to lose the spots in the meantime.
Rangers are Tier 2
Jeff, put me down for the Marlins on the second break. Payment sent via paypal.
Hey,
Can I get the Mets in the second break?
How can I pay you? Do you use PayPal?
Mets are yours paypal to stusigpi@hotmail.com
Done, Thanks!
