As the TB guy I'm stoked about the Upton but you're right on two fronts: dropping major cash on wax only to pull a great card of a guy who might/might not hit his potential with limited resale is not too good; and the on-jersey auto is pretty dangerous territory. I have 3 signed jerseys and they look nice, but the sig doesn't have that "clean" look to it you see with on-card. I can see how personal preference would turn someone off to those.
