As a lower end collector, that stuff looks awesome to me, but I can definitely see where you are coming from on the price and what you were promised. It's not there. However, that doesn't keep me from drooling...
At least it's better than the other crap. I'd still return it all.
Tough call. I like the way the "Lost Box" was pretty stacked, so you would not send all the cards back. These are not $1.00 card for the most part obviously. But I will say the variety is very good. and there are a few good inserts. I am on the fence on this one. I would say that you guys need to negotiate a number between $3,000 - $4,000. He has already gone through the trouble of packaging and shipping so he does not want to get them back for sure and you don't want to pay to send them back. The thing that has me on your side is the 60 J. Russell cards. Thats just a bullshit move on a deal like this!! Why would this guy do that? Thats like saying "here you throw these away they're worthless and I don't want to waste a trash bag"
I don't see the $3-$4k that you are. If you want to offer that I'll ship them right off to you. Personally, as a bulk lot this is worth about $800-$1000 at most. Bulk lots don't go for a whole lot.Anyway, Sell value on this is really tough to determine but this lot has thousands of cards that are worth less than the Russells. That really ticks me off
If you end up keeping it I would be interested in a lot "Junk" Red Sox inserts. Things like refractors of Pookey Reese and other guys that would never sell on eBay. (none of that Bowman stuff though)
NO Thanks on that batch of cards!!! Too much volume. Thats a ton of work that awaits you my friend. You have already spent way too much time on this project. I will say that bulk card buying almost never leaves me feeling like I got a great deal. I usually just stand over a garbage can and discard all the doubles and become totally underwhelmed by the rest. Low and behold the 200 cards I was excited to get is whittled down to 5-6 decent cards that I could have picked out at the local shop. Good luck, I am sure that you will work something out.
